University College Birmingham is the United Kingdom’s specialist institution for higher education business programmes in the fields of hospitality, tourism and culinary arts management. Our higher education programmes in the fields of business, marketing, sports therapy, retail and childcare and education are also internationally renowned. We offer a wide range of programmes from International Foundation Diploma, degree and postgraduate studies. All of our courses are designed to develop high levels of transferable skills that will make our students valued team members in any working team. Academic strengths
To welcome students to the College we organise a one-week orientation programme. It has been developed specially for international students who are new to the UK and who do not speak English as their first language. The programme provides information about college life, how you will be expected to work and study and how essays and assignments should be presented.
Language support is free of charge to ensure that you achieve the standard of English required by your programme. Language support is arranged to suit your individual needs, ranging from academic writing and study skills to an assignment and dissertation checking service. Programme-related skills such as essay and report structuring, effective note taking in lectures and presentation skills are also included.
