Education for the Real World
Our goal at Bath is to equip students with the education and skills necessary to develop a successful career in a competitive world. We have very close relationships with industry and the public sector, which means that what we teach you or the research that you undertake has relevance to the real world.
Many of our degrees are professionally accredited and over 60 per cent of our undergraduate students undertake work placements (internships) or a period of study abroad. The opportunity to combine practical experience with the development of theoretical knowledge is a major reason why our graduates benefit from very high rates of employment and can be found in positions of responsibility around the world.
Our students are motivated and career-orientated. They understand that entry to the University of Bath is highly competitive but they also know that as high calibre students they are themselves in demand. We therefore strive to offer programmes that satisfy their needs and facilities that meet their expectations.
Academic life and research activity
All of our academic departments are highly active in the field of research. This not only benefits students undertaking research degrees, it fosters an environment of discovery and innovation which benefits all students. Learning in a faculty at the cutting edge of their discipline makes for a challenging and rewarding education experience for students.
Academic life at Bath is centred around three Faculties and two schools - the Faculties of Engineering and Design, Humanities and Social Science, Science, and the Schools of Management and Health.
