The University of Glamorgan is a dynamic institution with an exceptional record for academic excellence, teaching and research. Renowned for its friendly community and supportive atmosphere the University continues to grow and attracts more than 21,000 students, including 3,200 overseas students every year.

The University has five faculties:

  • Cardiff School of Creative and Cultural Industries
  • Business School
  • Faculty of Advanced Technology
  • Faculty of Health, Science and Sport
  • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

In September 2007 we launched the new home of the Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries: ATRiuM, a cutting edge learning environment in the heart of Cardiff.

All of our courses across the faculties are designed to provide a balance of academic and work-related skills to give students a real advantage in today’s competitive job market.

Academic strengths
We have outstanding teaching quality and a reputation for academic excellence. We were rated 'Excellent' in 12 key subject areas in the national Teaching Quality Assessments (TQAs), including Accounting and Finance; Business and Management; Business Administration; Creative Writing; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Information Technology; Minerals Surveying; Public Sector Schemes; Surveying for Resource Development, Drama and more. The University of Glamorgan was shortlisted for the prestigious title of ‘University of the Year’ in the 2007 Times Higher Awards.
