The Guardian University Guide (2009 & 2010) ranks Bournemouth University (BU) as the Number One New University. We strive to ensure our graduates flourish in today's competitive international workplace. We work with key employers and organisations closely related to our areas of expertise.
Situated on the south coast of England and less than two hours from London by train, Bournemouth enjoys fantastic scenery and some of the country's mildest weather. BU provides a great working and studying environment, with a positive and dynamic atmosphere. The main campus, the Talbot Campus lies within five kilometres of the centre of Bournemouth, on the border of Bournemouth and Poole. The Lansdowne Campus, which consists of several grouped buildings, is located within Bournemouth town centre.

Entry Requirements
English language requirements for the majority of our courses are normally a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 6.0 or equivalent, although for some courses this may be higher. The University also offers a range of preparatory programmes which give you the opportunity to study in Bournemouth and prepare successfully for entry onto your chosen course. Our experience suggests that students who have spent time in England, developing the necessary language and study skills before starting their chosen programme, have a real advantage both academically and culturally.
Facilities and Services
BU benefits from one of the most extensive wireless computing networks of any UK university and offers modern lecture theatres and seminar rooms. The Sir Michael Cobham Library at BU is a leader in the provision of electronic information and its integration into the fast growing virtual learning environment.
Specialised facilities within our Academic Schools reflect BU's commitment to providing first-class resources, which include: purpose built studios for computer animation and digital special effects; recording studios; editing suites and a new Sony high definition television studio, the only University-based facility in the UK; a Prototyping and Virtual Manufacture centre and Rose Cottage, a unique 'crime house' used in the education of forensic students.
Staff at BU make overseas visits to promote our courses and meet both prospective students and alumni. Our website details the events and higher education exhibitions we are attending around the world. You can also use our website to find out about available scholarships and to access contact details for International Representatives in your country, who are contracted by BU to advise you about our courses and how to apply.
