Daniela, aged 38, was working in events management when she decided that she wanted to change careers.
‘I looked at several different culinary schools,’ Daniela said. ‘This course gave me a more realistic working environment for culinary arts and this International Diploma gave me more practical experience in the kitchen.
‘The quality of the teaching was fantastic as the lecturers have so much industry experience and the facilities are great.’

By studying at a UK further education college, Daniela was able to specialise in the exact area of Chef and Hospitality Studies that she was passionate about, and to gain an internationally recognised qualification.
During her time at Westminster Kingsway – a college with alumni including Jamie Oliver and Anthony Worrall Thompson – Daniela has been involved in real industry projects, including the launch of the Westking chocolate bar.

This gave her an insight not only into the cookery skills she would need to become successful in her career, but also gave her key business insight.

‘The launch of the Westking chocolate bar taught me so much about the whole process of making chocolate, and I also developed new skills that I could go out and practise in the industry,’ she says.
