Learn English – Costs and scholarships
You should be able to find out about course fees on each language centre’s website (click here to search for contact information), but if not, don’t hesitate to ask them. English language course costs vary greatly, and it is not sensible for us to state average fees.
Before you begin your course, think carefully about the costs and how you will finance your studies. Make sure you know what costs are included in the course fee – for example, some fees may include:
- Books and course materials
- Examination and qualification fees
- Excursions and trips to visit the local countryside
- Social events and parties
…but others may not.
Other costs to think about are:
- Travel to the UK
- Travel and sightseeing in the UK
- Health and travel insurance
- Day-to-day living costs.
Have a look at the Money section for advice about budgeting.
Because English language courses are so popular, competition for scholarships and funding can be strong, but it is worth finding out what is available.
