Torture time at the Tower
The Tower of London (top) - Courtesy of www.britainonview.com & Tower Bridge (bottom) - Courtesy of www.visitlondon.com An exhibition at the Tower of London, 'Torture at the Tower', examines the facts about torture at the Tower and reveals some surprising myths.
The exhibition houses replicas of a range of torture instruments used at the Tower including the rack, the Scavenger's Daughter (which compressed the body) and manacles used to suspend prisoners from the floor.
Interactive touch-screens allow visitors to get closer to the gory subject. The exhibition also allows you to discover more about some of the poor unfortunates who were tortured at the Tower.
