For almost 100 years, Rolls-Royce has been one of the heavyweight UK car brands and the cars themselves are considered to be the most prestigious luxury vehicles in the world.

Like Bentleys, 'Rollers' are always distinctively British, with the same traditional brand values in evidence in each model. A typically majestic example, the 1956 Silver Cloud, featured a thin-rimmed steering wheel, walnut-mounted dashboard, leather seating, pressed steel bodywork, and the world-famous radiator grille (inspired by the Parthenon in Athens) and 'Spirit of Ecstasy' mascot.
Rolls-Royces from the 1906 Silver Ghost to the 1966 Silver Shadow and the 2003 Phantom, have had names that imply power without effort, or 'waftability'. According to Rolls-Royce's chief designer, Ian Cameron, this unique quality characterises Rolls-Royces past and present and refers to the smooth, silent ride associated with the brand. The Queen and other members of the royal family regularly use Rolls-Royces for state occasions, and Rolls-Royce even run their own training school for chauffeurs. In the 1960s, John Lennon gave his Phantom V a radical makeover when he hired a group of Dutch graffiti artists to transform his car into a bizarre psychedelic showpiece.
