  • Description: The Fulbright Commission Wales Summer Institute is a six-week cultural and academic programme for US students focusing on the theme of 'Contemporary Wales: Economy, Culture, Politics, and Change'. Participants will get the opportunity to experience an exciting academic programme at three high quality Welsh Universities, explore the geography, culture, heritage and history of Wales, develop their learning skills, meet people from all over the world, and experience life as a real student in the UK.

  • Description: You will experience the UK education system at one of the UK’s leading universities and immerse yourself in genuine British culture. Each module will be led by an expert in their field and include a range of learning and assessment methods. Through experiential learning and field trips, you will spend lots of time outside of the classroom, enjoying hands-on learning that will give you insights into British culture, history and society that even the Brits will envy. There will also be a busy social programme including a welcome reception, movie nights, trips into the city and beyond, outdoor activities and sporting and recreational events. Every Friday will be reserved for a major trip away to a module-related destination including a visit to London.   • Description: Now in its tenth year, the Institute of Irish Studies International Summer School is proving just as popular as ever with students coming from all over the world to attend the three-week programme. The Institute, founded in 1965 and the first of its kind to be established in the United Kingdom and Ireland, is an internationally-renowned centre of Irish scholarship. This is an exciting time for Irish Studies at Queen’s University and the Institute is at the centre of the university’s International Research Initiative. During this exciting and jam-packed programme, students are encouraged to learn about Irish and Northern Irish culture both inside and outside of the classroom. Lectures and seminars are given by internationally-acclaimed scholars from Queen's University and elsewhere on various aspects of the study of Ireland, including history, politics, anthropology, film and theatre, language and literature.
