'智慧课堂:与英国先锋人物面对面'
智慧课堂是英国大使馆/总领事馆文化教育处举办的一系列的大师讲堂、研讨会、以及专业工作坊,涉及的热点话题包罗万有,从建筑、营销、冒险到尖端科学、创业。该系列活动旨在通过创造一系列中国公众与英国先锋人物近距离交流和对话的机会,使观众们切身体验英国教育中独树一帜的创新思维和创意教育,进而让中国公众更深入了解英国引以自豪的教育和文化,并在灵感的碰撞间收获智慧的火花!
从2009年起智慧课堂为大家邀请来最出色的英国校友。此前智慧课堂邀请来的知名人物包括好莱坞传奇人物帕特里克•斯图尔特爵士教授(Sir Patrick Stewart),著名鞋类设计师Jimmy Choo、全球商业大亨查理德•布兰森爵士(Sir Richard Branson),还有英国探险达人马克•博蒙特(Mark Beaumont),英国著名设计师、世博会英国馆和奥运会开幕式主火炬设计者Thomas Headerwick。
在2012年的智慧课堂中,我们将邀请来自商业、创意及艺术领域的先锋人物,其中包括令人振奋的知名设计师、摄影师以及富有开拓精神的企业家,并将留英校友们正在积极参与并且已经取得国际影响力的项目置于聚光灯下。

Smart Talk with Dream Lab judges (Michael Johnson, Anthony Dunne, Donna Loveday)
Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson is the designer/writer/thinker that founded johnson banks. He’s won most of the design world’s most prestigious awards, including eight Design and Art Direction (D&AD) pencils, has dozens of designs in the V&A’s permanent collection and was D&AD President in 2003, one of the youngest presidents ever.
Anthony Dunne
Anthony Dunne is professor and head of the Design Interactions programme at the Royal College of Art in London. He is also a partner in the design studio Dunne & Raby. His projects with Fiona Raby use design as a medium to stimulate discussion and debate amongst designers, industry and the public. Their projects have been exhibited and published internationally and are in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Frac Ile-de-France and Fnac.
Donna Loveday
Donna Loveday is Head of Curatorial at the Design Museum, London. She has responsibility for an international touring exhibitions programme, the Design Museum Collection and Archive. She also curates design and fashion exhibitions and oversees the museum's MA Curating Contemporary Design, run in partnership with Kingston University
Topic:
The speakers will focus on some of the freshest ideas they see coming from the world of design, they will also attempt to suggest how some brands are able to cross linguistic and cultural borders to maintain a global presence. They will also compare their own ideas from their current work to the new trends coming out in the world of design, with a focus on graphic design.
The designers will give an insight into their own creative process when coming up with ideas and give the audience some advice on how they turn their ideas into fantastic brands and designs. They will also be able to share their real life experience from their studies and work and discuss the obstacles they have had to overcome as well as share their many successes during their careers.

Catherine McDermott
Professor Catherine McDermott is a well-known author and curator. The MA Curating Contemporary Design she established at Kingston University in partnership with the Design Museum London is now widely regarded as an international centre of curating excellence. In 2011 Catherine was elected a committee member of ICOM UK (International Committee of Museums) and is a longstanding member of the Museums Association.
Tim Molloy
Tim Molloy has overseen the implementation of the ‘Museum of the Future’ masterplan. This large scale redevelopment programme has included ‘The Basement’, an interactive science club for young people; ‘Making the Modern World’, a sculpture court of heroic technology and the ‘Wellcome Wing’, 7000 sqm of new building often described as ‘a theatre of future science’. Recent galleries include ‘Who am I?’ (biomedical science); ‘Launchpad’ (interactive physics); ‘Atmosphere’ (climate science); and ‘Antenna’ (a 3D magazine of science research).
Rebecca Lynch
Rebecca’s portfolio of independently curated exhibitions includes Beauty in the Making, an exhibition showcasing best practice in graphic design on behalf of the British Council, and The Art of Lost Words, which brought together 47 of the UK’s best-known designers and artists. In 2011 Rebecca founded the independent gallery and curatorial practice So Far, the Future to explore contemporary creative activity at the crossroads of art, design and technology.
Topic:
Three speakers will explore how curation can be used in broader contexts not only limited to museum and gallery exhibitions. These new approaches borrow from the world of art, design, theatre and film to tell real stories to real people. The presentation will focus on the exchange taking place between technology and the arts..The speakers will also offer contemporary insights into - New approaches to curating science, 2013 projects at the Science Museum and how installation artists are responding to the challenge of communicating science.
