Welcome to the course Education UK certificate, a certificated qualification designed for education agents by the British Council to strengthen expertise in promoting the UK as a study destination. The course will develop your ability to provide high quality information, resources and services to students seeking an international education. The course will also develop your skills to source relevant information and update your knowledge about UK education.


Professional aims

This training programme enables agents to promote UK education effectively and provide high-quality information, resources and services to potential international students. The course also develops your skills to source information and how to regularly update your knowledge.

In guiding the customers to establish the questions you need to answer and where to find those answers, agents are helping them to become more independent and better prepared for your experience as international students in the UK.

In conjunction with other information resources developed by the British Council, the course will serve as a continuous source of support and professional knowledge updating. As such, obtaining this British Council qualification will represent a valued and recognised professional achievement.


Course Detail

The course comprises of two units: Studying and living in the UK and UK education and training. Participants of the course are recommended to spend at least three hours per week over the eight week period learning the material in each unit.


We’d suggest you making a learning plan. Choose a time of day that you learn best, either early in the morning, lunchtime, afternoon or the evening. Decide which days of the week that you will study and WRITE this in your diary.

During this course, you should also complete professional development record of your development and learning outcomes.

Benefits

Studying the course is beneficial in several ways. The Education UK Certificate for Agent is recognised by UK institutions, and it demonstrates to students and parents that agents have gained knowledge in the above areas. Furthermore, it will enable agents to access support more easily from the British Council globally and in country.

Please kindly note that the certificate is awarded to the candidate undertaking the course, and NOT the agency to whom the candidate works for.

The qualification is valid for a period of three years. Reissue is dependent on evidence of participation in continuing professional development activity, which could include: attending Education UK exhibitions or attendance at local British Council office training seminars and briefings.

Those agent counsellors who wish to achieve Education UK Certificate need to undertake the Final Assessment. The cost of Agent Online Training for Education UK Certificate is GBP400.
