There is so much to see and do in the UK's 15 National Parks this spring. From walking tours to seasonal events, these areas of outstanding natural beauty are the perfect way to welcome in the warmer weather.

Brecon Beacons National Park – Ironscape, 6 April, 2013
Located in the heart of Wales, the Brecon Beacons National Park is an ideal place to welcome in the spring. This year, visitors can enjoy Ironscape, which looks at region's history with local Ironworks. Taking a step back in Welsh history, this event is sure to be popular, so booking is advised. Meet by Garn Lakes nature reserve. 

Broads National Park – Green Boat Show, 19 May 2013
The Green Boat Show in The Broads National Park, Norfolk, marks the finale of the Broads Outdoor Festival. Located on Salhouse Broad, the event will showcase green methods for boating and tourism, with plenty of activities to keep visitors busy.

Dartmoor National Park – Tavistock Farmer's Market, second and fourth Saturdays in March, April and May 2013
Stunning Dartmoor, which is famed for its wild ponies, is well worth a visit this spring. Spend the day rambling around the 450 miles of walks, before heading to Tavistock Market for some local food. The market runs all year round but spring is an excellent time to visit – with new seasonal produce and plenty of inspiration for foodies.

Exmoor National Park – Easter event at Dunster Castle, 30th - 31 March 2013
The picturesque village of Dunster, located on the east side of Exmoor National Park, boasts a stunning castle which is hosting dozens of spring events and the pick of the bunch is the Easter extravaganza. Sponsored by Cadbury's, this weekend long event is a must for chocoholics, with the beautiful views over Devon's Exmoor making it extra special.

Loch Lomond National Park – Visit Puck's Glen, throughout Spring 2013
Spring is the perfect time to visit Loch Lomond and explore idyllic 'Puck's Glen', named after the mischievous fairy from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Accessed by a two-mile footpath, visitors will also have a chance to view spring flowers and foliage en route.

New Forest National Park – Pony trekking, throughout Spring 2013

Pony trekking and horse riding have long been popular ways of seeing the beautiful New Forest, located on the southern coast of England. With miles of bridleways, it's the perfect way to enjoy the changing seasons.

Northumberland National Park – Stargazing, 29 March 2013
Make the most of the warmer spring nights by spending an evening gazing at the stars! The rural site, at Herding Hill Farm, is located just next to rugged Northumberland National Park - making it a perfect spot for scanning the night sky. The evening includes a talk from members of the Newcastle Astronomical Society, as well practical telescope opportunities.

North York Moors National Park – What has been art exhibition, 29 March - 22 April 2013

The North York Moors provide a wonderful chance to explore the north Yorkshire countryside and also discover the area's vibrant arts scene. What has been is an art show situated in the the Moors National Park centre and the event includes tree root sculptures and photography exhibits.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – Walking the Welsh coast, Carn Llidi, March 29 2013
Discover springtime in Wales with a walk along the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastal path. This guided four-mile walk is perfect for beginners and will give you a real taste of the magical Welsh landscape.

South Downs National Park - Sheep farming and shepherding, 7 - 11 April 2013
Lambs are a traditional springtime sight in the UK and many areas have a long tradition of sheep-herding. The idyllic South Downs National Park in southern England is hosting a traditional shepherding event in 2013, giving visitors a glimpse into modern farming, as well as exploring agricultural heritage.

Yorkshire Dales National Park - Ride2stride Walking Festival,
30 April - 6 May 2013
Get out and about in the spring sunshine with the Yorkshire Dales ride2stride walking festival. Based along the Settle-Carlisle railway line, this week-long event includes music, walks and of course beautiful train rides.
